The 85th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft is one of the oldest juried exhibitions in New England. This annual summer tradition at the Fitchburg Art Museum strives to discover, encourage, and celebrate the artists and crafters of our region. The 85thRegional Exhibition provides artists in our community with a museum environment to exhibit their artwork and opportunities to connect with fellow artists, patrons, and enthusiasts.
Artists may submit up to two works in any media produced within the last two years. Registration forms and payment are due by Monday, May 18, 2020. For your convenience, artists may register online or via mail. Please note that the registration fee for the 85thRegional Exhibition covers up to two submitted artworks per artist. Whether you submit one or two artworks, you only need to pay the appropriate registration fee once. FAM is thrilled to announce that this year’s juror is Jamie Uretsky, the Curator at New Bedford Art Museum/ArtWorks! and a nationally and internationally exhibited performing artist. Her work was included in the 2013 deCordova Biennial at The deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum. She has also performed and exhibited at Art Basel Miami, FL, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, The Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard University, Rhode Island School of Design Museum and the Museum of Art and Design in New York. Uretsky’s work has been published in print, online, and video journals such as Headmaster Magazine, Gaga Stigmata, Big Red & Shiny, and ASPECT: The Chronicle of New Media Art.
On June 26, 6–8pm, we will celebrate the opening of the 85th Regional Exhibition of Art and Craft!This reception is free and open to the public. Join us for food, drinks, music, and the announcement of prizewinners. Juror Jamie Uretsky and FAM staff will award modest cash prizes for categories including watercolor, painting, craft, and sculpture. In addition, the First Prize winner will be awarded a solo exhibition alongside the 86th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft in 2021. For the full list of prizes, see the information packet.
