Anne Hopkins: Gathered, and Seaworthy Vessels
June 21, 2025 – September 7, 2026

Anne Hopkins, From Seaworthy Vessels: Skates on Plates (detail), image lift, plastic plates, 48” x 12”, Courtesy of the Artist
Anne Hopkins, of Dracut, Massachusetts, is a photographer, object-maker, and conceptual artist. Her artistic practice is grounded in the technology of image-transfer, in which her own two-dimensional photographic imagery is transferred to the surfaces of found objects.
This exhibition features two recent bodies of work. Gathered is a collection of small artifacts in which the meaning of each object is radically transformed by the application of images, to create mysterious, open-ended content. In Seaworthy Vessels, the artist uses the same technique to juxtapose images of marine life with mass-produced materials to comment on pressing environmental issues.
Anne Hopkins was First Prize Winner in 2024’s 88th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft at the Fitchburg Art Museum.
