The Learning Lounges are temporarily “read-only.” All touchable and interactive components have been removed in accordance with MA state safety regulations for the duration of the pandemic. Free take-home sketching materials for use in the Museum’s galleries are available for children at the front desk. See also the printable Gallery Activities sheets under the After Spiritualism Related Programs section here.

These family-friendly, interactive spaces offer visitors multiple ways to explore the themes and techniques evident in many of our exhibitions. Generously funded by the Clementi Family Charitable Trust (contemporary art), and the Estate of William Teel (African Art), the activities are open-ended and designed to be done alone or with friends or family members. Try a technique, listen to an artist describe his or her process, write a reflection, or add to a communal artwork. There’s fun for everyone in The Learning Lounges!
