Heirlooms presents a vibrant series of abstract works on paper featuring joyful color palettes, lyrical linework, and dynamic geometric patterns. This body of work draws its essence from a handcrafted quilt made by Hamilton’s great-grandmother, passed down to the artist by her father. Hamilton’s paintings create a dialogue across generations, using her unique visual language to transform family stories into vivid contemporary abstractions. Through delicate layers of gouache and bold swaths of black gesso, Hamilton celebrates how family artifacts are capable of carrying our most enduring memories.
