Clementi Family Manager of Education Programs
Job Summary:
The Clementi Family Manager of Education Programs will develop and execute meaningful learning experiences for families, students, teachers, and the community. The Manager is responsible for co-creating and implementing educational programs and providing customized resources for museum partners under the supervision of the Director of Education. This position will prioritize the relationship building and educational content connected to FAM’s art collection and exhibitions for visitor centric programming.
The Clementi Family Manager of Education Programs will work closely with colleagues and partners to plan and develop content rich programs and facilitate them to engage the intended audiences. The Manager will focus on a variety of public and specialized audience programs, school-based programs, as well as training for the museum’s volunteer and part time educators. The Manger will evaluate and improve programs to ensure they align with the desired outcomes of the education department.

Evening and weekend work will be required to fulfill museum needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and facilitates art and creativity inspired experiences for audiences using strategies of people-centered, inquiry-based learning.
- In partnership with the Director of Education, creates and executes professional development opportunities for teachers, especially Fitchburg Public Schools. Develop curriculum connections on collection and exhibitions to support and enhance their projects and museum visits.
- Interfaces with museum departments and community partners to engage family centric programs, including Fitchburg Families First events and others, with organizations and schools.

- Manages the training of Docents, volunteers, and teaching artists for exhibitions and museum collections providing materials and content that connect with curriculum guidelines and support the engagement of audiences.
- Manages the Community Gallery, including installation, promotion, and programming.
- Updates website content for programs, lesson plans and teacher resources. Respond to program and tour inquiries, ensuring appropriate content is available and provided.
- Supports the development of materials and strategies that enable accessible and multi-modal experiences for museum audiences.
- Collaborates and has professional interactions with fellow educators and department staff. • Supports program evaluation and data collection through collaboration with staff. Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to move and lift objects and materials up to 30 pounds.
- Engage with diverse participants for extended periods of time in museum spaces or other locations in Fitchburg.
- Ability to travel to programs off campus as necessary.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to display and encourage visitor and internal customer service, take, and share responsibility and treat others with respect.
- Experience in program planning and management.
- Experience teaching diverse audiences with inclusive strategies.
Qualifications (Education and Experience, et.):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Museum Studies, Studio or Art History, Non-profit Management; transferable skills in another area of study are welcomed.
- Experience developing, executing, and evaluating public programs, knowledge of inquiry-based teaching and current practices in museum education, and experience training tour guides.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with PreK–12 audiences in informal or formal education environments, including museums, school classrooms, or other cultural institutional settings. Knowledge of Massachusetts K-12 audiences and Curriculum Frameworks and able to apply them to museum content.
- Experience teaching with works of art using people-centered, inclusive strategies and knowledge of art history.
- Demonstrated ability to work with children and adults from across diverse communities.
- Experience engaging and supporting people with diverse cognitive abilities.

- Exceptional email communication, written, presentation, social media, and interpersonal skills. • Bilingual in English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

Salary
