BILINGUAL VISITOR SERVICES ASSOCIATE

The Fitchburg Art Museum (FAM) seeks  a responsible individual as the Bilingual Visitor Services Associate. The BVSA is the primary public face of the museum and helps to make Museum visitors feel welcome, in both English and Spanish.
The BVSA welcomes Museum guests and processes all daily admissions and gift shop sales as well as memberships, event registrations, class registrations, and group tours. The BVSA prepares daily and monthly attendance reports, in Excel and through the Altru database. The BVSA should be friendly, enthusiastic, and have an interest in art.
The BVSA may (as available) provide support at Museum special events, rentals, and other programs scheduled outside of normal business hours.
Qualifications:
• Must have excellent knowledge of both English and Spanish, written and verbal
• Exceptional customer service skills, a mature and outgoing personality, and an enjoyment for interacting with members of the public
• Detail-oriented with regards to counting money, processing sales and filling out paperwork; can manage several tasks simultaneously
• Display a positive attitude with visitors and staff members; willing to work as part of a team
• Experience with Excel, Word, data entry, and POS systems
•  Able to lift 25 pounds
• Previous employment or volunteer experience in museums or customer service a plus
20-25 hours per week. $15.00/hour
Hours: 11:30am–4:30pm, Wednesday–Friday; 10:30am-5:30pm, Saturday, plusoptional mornings and evenings for tours, meetings, and special events.

Wednesdays through Fridays: 12–4pm
Saturdays and Sundays: 11am–5pm
First Thursday of each month: 12–7pm
